Broughton Village Bakery has served the village of Broughton-in-Furness since the 1930’s and has passed through the hands of more than one local family. Victorian cook Sarah Nelson invented Grasmere Gingerbread in 1854 in the Lake District village from where it gets its name. Due to the popularity and success of Levens Kitchen in their first three years of business, the establishment has expanded further to include a takeaway-style bakery to meet high demands for their delicious cakes and bread. Following their success on Bake off: The Professionals, Levens Kitchen’s Head Chef and Pastry Chef have been joined by two new chefs to expand their existing range of delicious bread, pastries and cakes – perfect to enjoy in the gardens or to take home to savour later whilst reminiscing about your great visit to Levens Hall.
