The lovely makers and producers of Cumbria not only produce beautiful art, crafts, clothing, furniture and food and drink, many also offer workshops so you can have a go too!
Learn how to watercolour like a professional, spin clay like you know what you’re doing or make your own silver jewellery. You can even learn to cook, bake and sew with a variety of classes, workshops and studios offering have-a-go sessions. These workshops are a great way for designers to promote their unique talents and tempt people to buy their products afterwards. Classes are great for adults, couples and even families, whether you live in Cumbria or not.
Made in Cumbria is a showcase of all that is made and created in Cumbria and our workshops are no exception. Why don’t you try your hand at making something in Cumbria and learn from the experts.
You’ll find arts workshops including calligraphy, craft workshops such as felting and crocheting, creative courses such as floristry courses where you can learn to make your very own floral designs, or more practical workshops such as how to use a laith, basic electrics or plumbing or learn a new language.
There are studios in Keswick and Kendal that act as a central hub for creative craftspeople where you can try a class, peruse their gallery of collected works or buy their items from an on-site shop. These businesses promote not only Cumbria crafts but invite you to make your own, which is a great way to spend a day in inclement weather in the Lakes.
Check out our selection of studios, workshops, courses and classes and learn a new skill with Made in Cumbria.
